Each of these modern Kiradashi is cut from a bar of pattern-welded steel forged in our shop in Montana. Every piece is hand-ground, finished, and sharpened, and features a unique, bold, random Damascus pattern. The Damascus steel is composed of 1080 and 15N20 high-carbon steels, and the pattern is revealed through a precise acid-etching process. Included is a handmade leather edge cover from Teton Leather, built in Idaho Falls, ID.

The Kiradashi is an ancient Japanese design used for woodworking, carving, and general shop utility tasks. This reimagination of the timeless design began to evolve nearly 10 years ago when Will built his first Kiradashi. Since then, this design has morphed and changed to arrive at these proportions and ergonomics. It is perfectly suited for the daily demands of anyone working with their hands in a shop, or for those who sit at a desk. No matter the situation, it’s almost always handy to have a razor-sharp knife around.

Since these tools are made from high-carbon steel, they can rust. Please keep them waxed or oiled to prevent corrosion. Each Kiradashi comes with a 1 oz tin of Wicked Wax to preserve the steel and prevent rust.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind, and no two will ever be exactly alike.
